SYNOPSIS
He Was Called Rock & Roll, directed by Saverio Smeriglio, tells the story of Mauro (Andrea Montovoli), a man who, after becoming disabled due to a serious accident, has lost all desire and motivation for life.
His journey toward rebirth begins when he meets Federico (Federico Richard Villa), a young man affected by ataxia whose unique perspective on the world challenges Mauro’s fears and convictions. Through their friendship, Mauro discovers how lives that may appear distant can reveal unexpected connections and a profound human bond.
Guiding and inspiring this search for meaning is Oronzo (Nicola Nocella), an orderly at the clinic where the two meet. Outgoing, ironic, and generous, he encourages them to embark on a journey together—one that becomes an opportunity for growth, reflection, and the rediscovery of the desire to live.
