“Una di Famiglia,” directed by Paul Feig, tells the story of Millie Calloway (Sydney Sweeney), a young woman fleeing her past who accepts a job as a housemaid in the luxurious Winchester family villa.
At first, the position seems like the perfect opportunity for a fresh start, but soon what appears to be a dream job turns into a subtle game of seduction, secrets, and power, where nothing is as it seems and perfection is only an illusion. The Winchester villa, spacious and meticulously maintained, is dominated by an aesthetic rigor that conceals tension and deceit. Nina Winchester (Amanda Seyfried), the mother and seemingly composed hostess, begins making increasingly pressing and ambiguous demands. Meanwhile, Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar) offers Millie a different kind of support, and the clarity of roles is constantly challenged.
Behind the closed doors of the residence, no one is truly safe, and every character hides a secret—from the daughter Cece (Indiana Elle) to the elderly mother Evelyn (Elizabeth Perkins), and even the silent gardener Enzo (Michele Morrone). As Millie settles into the villa’s attic, tension rises, weaving together deception, desire, and scandal into a plot filled with moral ambiguity and latent danger.
Every gesture and word becomes a tool of manipulation in an environment where power manifests through both seduction and control, ultimately revealing a truth more shocking than Millie could ever have imagined…
