SYNOPSIS
Breve Storia d'Amore (A Brief Love Story), directed by Ludovica Rampoldi, follows the lives of two couples, two generations, and four people whose destinies become intertwined in unexpected ways.
On one side are Lea (Pilar Fogliati) and Andrea (Andrea Carpenzano), a couple in their thirties searching for a balance between desire and stability. On the other are Rocco (Adriano Giannini) and Cecilia (Valeria Golino), in their fifties, seemingly settled into the script of their lives. One evening, Lea meets Rocco in a bar, and an immediate, irresistible attraction sparks between them.
What follows is a clandestine affair, played out behind the anonymous walls of a hotel room through fleeting, emotionally charged encounters. What at first appears to be an ordinary act of infidelity soon becomes the catalyst for an escalating emotional spiral. Lea's fascination grows into an all-consuming obsession, driving her to infiltrate Rocco's life and blur the line between passion and control. As their respective partners, Andrea and Cecilia, are drawn into the turmoil, the story takes an increasingly unsettling turn, building toward an inevitable reckoning.
A sharp and emotionally nuanced exploration of the hidden corners of intimacy, unspoken desires, and the fractures that emerge within adult relationships, Breve Storia d'Amore probes the fragile boundaries between love, dependency, and longing in a tense and compelling psychological drama.
