 aps it is more appropriate to speak of a “blue thread\,” the one that lead
 s us to discover our sea — or rather Mare Nostrum\, the term used by the R
 omans to refer to the Mediterranean — a sea that\, even today\, we know an
 d appreciate too little\, despite its millennia-old importance in the deve
 lopment of the many peoples and civilizations that arose along its shores\
 , and despite its extraordinary wealth of biodiversity\, a precious yet fr
 agile treasure… one that must be PROTECTED.\nThe readings will be accompan
