OUR SEA: A Treasure to Discover, a Wonder to Protect!

We look forward to welcoming many of you to a very special event, suitable for all ages, from 0 to 100 years old: on Wednesday, May 27th at 5:30 PM at the Antoniana Library in Ischia, the volunteer readers of the LaAV Circle of the Island of Ischia, together with the Teen LaAV section, will present readings and excerpts from both scientific and narrative literature for adults, as well as stories suitable for younger children!

You may wonder what the “common thread” of the evening will be.

Perhaps it is more appropriate to speak of a “blue thread,” the one that leads us to discover our sea — or rather Mare Nostrum, the term used by the Romans to refer to the Mediterranean — a sea that, even today, we know and appreciate too little, despite its millennia-old importance in the development of the many peoples and civilizations that arose along its shores, and despite its extraordinary wealth of biodiversity, a precious yet fragile treasure… one that must be PROTECTED.

The readings will be accompanied by projected images… beautiful photographs taken in our seas by specialists and researchers!
