SYNOPSIS
Il Bene Comune, directed by Rocco Papaleo, tells the story of an extraordinary excursion destined to forever change the lives of its participants.
Biagio (Rocco Papaleo) is a guide who accepts the unusual assignment of accompanying four female inmates on a reward trip to the Pollino National Park. They are Samanta (Claudia Pandolfi), beautiful and fearless; Gudrun (Teresa Saponangelo), an Italian-Norwegian woman; Fiammetta (Livia Ferri), a former rising star of the independent music scene; and Anny (Rosanna Sparapano), a brilliant hacker. Joining them is also Raffaella (Vanessa Scalera), an actress in crisis searching for a new opportunity.
What should be a simple excursion into nature soon becomes a much deeper journey. The symbolic destination of their path is the majestic Loricato Pine, an ancient tree that dominates the Pollino massif and embodies resilience. But the true journey is an inner one: through difficult climbs and breathtaking yet harsh landscapes, fragments of lives marked by mistakes, wounds, and unfulfilled desires begin to emerge.
Nature becomes a space for confrontation and possibility. Talking, sharing their stories, and even singing together allow the women to ease their tensions and rediscover a sense of belonging.
In this challenging yet supportive environment, their differences begin to intertwine and something starts to change. The simple act of telling one’s story can become the first step toward a greater transformation—both personal and collective.
