PLOT Joe (Seth Rogen), a musician who has put his dreams aside to teach jazz at a conservatory, and his wife Angela (Olivia Wilde), a homemaker, are going through a deep marital crisis. Things are further complicated by their upstairs neighbors, Hawk and Pína (Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz), a free-spirited and uninhibited couple whose lively, sleepless nights put Joe’s patience to the test. In an attempt to ease the tension, Angela decides to invite them over for dinner, convinced that a friendly gesture could turn a difficult neighborly relationship into a new friendship. But a simple evening between neighbors soon takes an unexpected turn when Hawk and Pína reveal their unconventional lifestyle and suggest that Joe and Angela share an unconventional couples’ experience. The invitation sets off an unpredictable night filled with confessions, provocations, and absurd situations, during which secrets, frustrations, and repressed desires finally come to the surface. Amid irony, embarrassment, and attraction, the four will be forced to question their own certainties and confront what they truly seek from love, sex, and life as a couple.
